Experience a Day in a Cretan House
Become a member of the family for the day and do with the local family the things they do in their everyday life in the village. From brewing Greek coffee yourself and bake bread in the traditional wood oven to participating in goats milking and sheep shearing. Prepare and cook together with the family the meal of the day and experience how the ladies of the house cook the special Cretan “antikristo” lamb. A traditional way of cooking lamb slowly on vertical grills upon a hearth.

Try local wine and Raki -traditional liqueur based on grapes- and you see with your eyes the process of Raki making in the house two hundred years old still. Moreover, find out all about the winemaking process on Crete, visit local vineyards and discover the pleasure of stomping grapes in a real wine press.
Try fresh mountain tea, delicious herbs and spices, tasteful homemade marmalades, and fruit punches. Don’t miss to enjoy delicious local cheese from the local dairy.
Experience Local Life & Cuisine
Stroll in the village and explore the old traditional architecture. Also, reach an orthodox church with a panoramic view, and wander among ancient oak trees in the nearby nature park. Visit with your hosts ancient wine presses that date back to Roman times. If you feel like going deeper into ancient eras, the ancient Archaic town of “Risinia” of the early 7th century B.C. is there to astonish you with the earliest known Greek Temple decorated with sculpture, which revealed two monumental statues of seated Goddesses.
