Your day will start with the traditional private village of Arolithos. There you have the chance to explore the traditional architecture of a typical mountainous Cretan village. You will visit several of the old style houses , the detailed folk art museum and we will enjoy Greek coffee in the village central square.
For the lovers of interactive Arts, you also have the chance to participate in Folk Art sessions on traditional themes such as Weaving, Mosaics making, Kneading or even in Cretan Cooking sessions.
The Cave of Ida: The birth place of the Cretan born Zeus and the “Great Mother” ritual
After driving through unique mountainous scenery and traditional villages you will reach the Cave of Ida, the second biggest Cave on Crete connected with the Cretan born Zeus and his worshiping. The ritual use of the Cave goes back to 6,000bc while this Cave was also one of the most important Peak sanctuaries for the worshiping of the Minoan Goddess.

Your lunch will take place in a “mitato” stone built shepherd’s hut near the cave, on Ida Mountains. Enjoying a breathtaking view and tasting traditional mountainous specialties will be an unforgettable experience.
The traditional village of Anogia and the traditional Cretan Music
The traditional village of Anogia, a very important historic area during the second world war period, one of the island’s most authentic places and birthplace of a series of Cretan music composers will be your last stop. There we will visit the small museum of traditional instruments and the house- museum on N. Xylouris, one of the greatest Lyra players and Cretan music composers.
