• Explore Juktas Sacred Hill

  You will explore one of the most sacred hills on Crete, the hill of Juktas, or the “Talking Mountain”, a place connected with a series of ancient myths, traditions and rituals.  

  One of them wants it to be the death and rebirth place of the most important God of historic Crete, God Zeus. Archaeology has proven the bonds to the earlier worshipping of the Minoan “Great Mother” Goddess.

  A plethora of unique sacred sites are located there, dated from 3000BC down to 1100BC, such as Phourni Minoan cemetery with its Minoan and Mycenaean prehistoric tombs. Another important place of visit will be Anemospilia Peak Sanctuary, the place where the only identified Minoan human sacrifice took place.

  Last prehistoric Site of your exploration will be Vathiperto Minoan Winery and Industrial area dating back to 1.700 BC, where the oldest European wine press was excavated.

• The ancient Greek Theater in theory and practice

  In a theater located inside a beautiful natural park, you will explore the ancient Greek Theater in theory and practice, through an hour and a half experiential workshop.

  The first part of your lab focuses on the presentation of the ancient Greek drama, its origins and development. The second part is experiential and includes acting, dance, movement and ‘logos'(speech) lessons, working on an ancient drama text.

• Lunch in the Neoclassical Town of Archanes

  You will enjoy your lunch in the Neoclassical small town of Archanes, renowned for its architecture and wine production. 

  You will try the homemade Cretan cuisine in one of the town’s “mezedopolia” traditional restaurants, the ideal closing up of your experience.
